The Shorthorn is the student-run campus newspaper for the University of Texas at Arlington. The Shorthorn began publication in April 1919 as a monthly magazine to replace The Grubbonian and was written by the students of Grubbs Vocational College (now the University of Texas at Arlington). In 1922, The Shorthorn changed from a monthly to a weekly publication, and in 1977, it transitioned into a daily publication. The collection includes photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives (spanning the 1970s-early 2000s) depicting University of Texas at Arlington faculty, staff, and students, as well as additional activities around Arlington, Texas and surrounding communities.
