Description
A puppet show at "American Hands in Action" exhibition, sponsored by the Work Projects Administration (W. P. A.). The event was held at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas from April 25-May 14, 1939. On a stage is a puppet theater with eight puppets, all wearing blackface. There are four white female marionettes controlling the puppets. A woman plays the piano, located to the right of the theater. A large and white audience watches the performance. Behind the performers are large stage curtains and just visible behind the curtains is an arena.
