Description

The School of Social Work (SSW) adopted open educational resources for use in introductory Research Methods courses across the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. Two OER products were created - a textbook and a guidebook for writing literature reviews. The OER were piloted in Fall 2019 and introduced across the programs in Spring 2020. The three main goals of the adoption project were to: (1) provide a high quality, relevant Research Methods textbook to undergraduate and graduate social work student students, (2) have all required resources for all sections of the course be free of cost, and (3) build capacity in the School of Social Work for future adoption and creation of OER for additional courses.
