Abstract
Nanophotonics refers broadly to the science and technology associated with the manipulation of light on a nanoscale. In the UT Arlington Nanotechnology Research & Teaching Facility, research is conducted on control of light by use of periodic elements with nanoscale features. These elements are modeled theoretically in detail and then fabricated to verify their response experimentally. The research impacts laser technology, communications, information technology, electronics, and medical sensors.
