Image shows Konnie Lee Elder, third of three women fire fighter trainees, shown standing amongst unidentified objects in fire department. Elder is a former volunteer fire fighter and emergency medical technician at Keystone Resort in Colorado. They are training to join the Fort Worth Fire Department. They have vowed to complete the 20-week training school. When they graduate they will eliminate, Fort Worth the last city in Texas without women on their firefighting force. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition July 29, 1982.
