Description
Image shows special prosecutor Larry Baraka briefed reporters on the Lake Mexia Drownings case. The special court of inquiry into the deaths of three African American teenagers . Baraka states that little information on how the youths died in the custody of Limestone County Sheriff's deputies, because the two of the three men in the boat declined to testify, invoking the fifth amendment, the right against self- incrimination. The officers had taken a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, across the lake to patrol the Juneteenth celebration grounds. On the way back the boat began to sink and three officers, Elliott, Archie and Drummond, and the three teenagers went into the water.
