Image shows Deputy Kenny Elliott, right and Sheriff Dennis Walker at Inquiry for the Lake Mexia Drownings of three African American Teenagers who were in custody of Limestone County Sheriff Deputies. The officers had taken a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, across the lake to patrol the Juneteenth celebration grounds. On the way back the boat began to sink and three officers, Elliott, Archie and Drummond, and the three teenagers went into the water. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition June 24, 1981.
