Description
Members of the broadcast news media group were up to their microphones in muck at Mayfest, but they weren't raking it. Newspeople from KXAS-TV Channel 5 and KVIL Radio in Dallas were merely participating in the second annual tug-of-war across the Trinity River. KVIL even called in a "ringer" (as in one who has been in a lot of them), professional wrestler Fritz Von Erich. KXAS also had one - the Dallas Cowboys' Harvey Martin. Pictured here is the KVIL group, including Fritz Von Erich [Jack Adkisson] and David Von Erich [David Adkisson]. Some 8,000 persons were on hand for the first day of Mayfest.
