Description

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) protested the use of the Confederate flag by South Grand Prairie High School (SGPHS) during a football game at Grand Prairie High School's (GPHS) Gopher Stadium. This came as a result of SGPHS football player Fred Coleman Jr. being reportedly dismissed from the football team after he had protested playing under the school's Confederate battle flag. The protesters came with American flags and signs that read "School Board, Taxation without Representation" and "The G.P. school system promotes racism."
