Description
Smoke and flames-- reminiscent of the Bikini atom bomb pictures-- mushroom from a 55,000 gallon crude oil tank at the Magnolia pump station. The tank, two-thirds full of crude oil, was ignited by lightning about 4:38 a.m. Damage was estimated at $200,000. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition August 22, 1950.
