Description
A few of the thousands of pounds of telephone directories collected by the Cub Scouts of Pack 27, Den 5, of the Grace Methodist Church are shown in the arms of three members of the den. The boys left to right, are eight-year-old Ira Muse Jr., nine-year-old Con Van Trease, and Richard Iwan (age not given). Their group collected more than 3,000 pounds of phone books and waste paper that was sold, and the money used in building a Frank Buck Memorial Tiger Moat at the Forrest Park Zoo. Published in the evening edition, April 5, 1950.
