Image shows Captain T. D. Smith Jr., of the 2604 Mission. Captain Smith assumed the duties of adjutant at the Organized reserve Corps headquarters on Blue Mound Road. Smith replaced Captain Paul Groves, who stepped into Captain D. S. Fralick's assignment as instructor. Smith graduated from the University of Michigan in 1936 as a mechanical engineer, and entered the service in 1941, serving 34 months overseas with the Ordnance Corps. Published in the evening edition, August 17, 1950.
