Ready to give and receive a welcome at the new Fort Worth Armed Forces Center, 516 West 5th, when it opened were, left to right, Captain William L. Smith of Carswell Air Base, executive director of the center, receives the key to the building from Reverend James K. Thompson in the final act of the dedication ceremonies. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition July 20 1950.
