Mrs. Walter Rice was honored with a Camp Fire Award. The "Wakan Honor," a national Camp Fire award for "excellence of idea and expression" was awarded to Mrs. Walter Rice of 3825 El Campo, a South Hi Mount Camp Fire group leader, Mrs. Rice was the only leader in Fort Worth to receive the honor made by the national headquarters of the Camp Fire Girls. Published in the evening edition,, August 4, 1950.
