At Civic-Business Luncheon, Shopping Center Delegation Greeted - Fort Worth civic and business representatives formally welcomed representatives of the new multimillion-dollar Town and Country Shopping Center with a luncheon program Wednesday at the Fort Worth Club. The occasion, arranged by the Chamber of Commerce executive committee, emphasized the plans of various stores in the shopping center, located at Jacksboro Highway and Highway 183, to open for business during September, and the formal opening of the center itself early in October. Among those on hand to greet and get acquainted with officials of the new business enterprise were Clay J. Berry, chamber president , who presided; Mayor McCann and City Manager Davis; W. O. Jones, chamber executive office of First National Bank. I. R. Moore of Oklahoma City, vice president and director of sales for Humpty Dumpty Super Markets, spoke for the shopping center development group, calling the center part of "the most challenging innovation in the changing retail distribution system."
