Arlington Mayor Tommy Vandergriff, left, and Sam F. Wine of Texas Electric Service Company prepare to throw switch Tuesday night turning on for the first time Arlington's new Abram Street white way. The mercury vapor lamps extend for 5 1/2 miles along Abram to the Grand Prairie city limits, then continue for another five miles along Jefferson in Grand Prairie.
