Image shows, center, J. L. Curry, Mansfield cafe owner, reads to reporters a statement allegedly signed by 12 African American high school students living in the Mansfield area stating that they would not try to register in the Mansfield school. Curry is surrounded by Mansfield residents. The police officer in rear is Sheriff's Patrol Captain Bob Morton. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition September 5, 1956.
