Description

R. G. (Boss) Shannon, center, talks with his son, Armon Shannon, left, and an unidentified woman, after funeral services were held at Cottondale for George (Machine Gun) Kelly. Kelly married Shannon's stepdaughter, Kathryn, who is still serving a life term in the Charles F. Urschel kidnapping. Kelly was the third principal in the 1933 kidnapping to die. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition July 26, 1954
