Description
R. G. (Boss) Shannon took a last look at his old comrade in crime, George (Machine Gun) Kelly, at the gunman's funeral in Cottondale. At far right is Rev. Ed Bowles, pastor of First Baptist Church in Decatur. Shannon served time in prison for his part in Kelly's kidnapping of Oil Man Charles F. Urschel in 1933. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition July 26, 1954
