Description
Kathryn Farrar of 2841 Travis, a stenographer in the office of J. Paul Smith Company, was one of the first in Fort Worth to sign up for the monthly investment plan inaugurated by New York Stock Exchange members. She is shown writing a check to B. L. Morris, manager of the Fort Worth office of James E. Bennett & Co. She is investing $40 a month in Greyhound, which on the day she bought it closed at $13.87 1/2. Mrs. Billie Thompson, in background, is posting market fluctuations. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 21, 1954.
