Description
Consistent winning combination for James C. Dibrell, left, in operation of Echo Ranch, 11 miles northeast of Coleman in Coleman County, has been livestock, agriculture, and oil production. Oil wells became a major element in Dibrell's diversification program in recent years. It's a common sight in Coleman County to see oil wells pumping in the midst of pastures or cotton fields. Echo Ranch is part of extensive land holdings in the Dibrell family for three generations. Dibrell is a Hereford breeder, the herd stemming from Coleman County's first registered Herefords. Dibrell is standing with his horse, in front of an oil well. There are cows in the background.
