Description
Carl A. Perry, 44 year old construction worker, one of the first adults in Texas shown drinking an Atomic Cocktail. Perry is under the supervision of four doctors who administer the radioactive medical program. They hope this would reduce the cell-making activity of the bone marrow. Perry suffers a condition, polycythemia, a rare blood disorder. Perry helped build the Oak Ridge atomic energy plant in 1944 and did not know that from the plant also would come radioactive materials that may defeat powerful diseases, including his own. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition April 7, 1952.
