Description
A Polytech High School junior, Richard Louis Black, was named all-city winner of the annual Disabled American Veterans essay constest, and his entry has been forwarded to Austin for judging in the state competition. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Black of 4505 Morris Ct. was notified of his victory by Jack Davis, commander of the sponsoring DAV chapter, Blubonnet No. 20. Richard will receive a $12.50 cash prize from the Chapter's Charles E. Toliver Memorial Award fun and one of four medals comprising the Haltom Award.
