Framed by the ranks of a rifle squad and against a backdrop made up of a color guard, Major General Clarence S. Irvine, commander of the 19th Air Division, Carswell Air Base, places a Memorial day wreath on the Rose Hill grave of the man for whom the base is named, Major Horace S. Carswell, Jr. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition May 31, 1951.
