Barbecue was served on the passenger level of the Amon Carter Terminal Building, when 300 people gathered at Greater Fort Worth International Airport to honor the Texas Highway Commission. Left to right are Major General, C. S. Irvine, commander of the 19th Air Division at Carswell Air Base; Eugene McElvaney, senior vice president of Dallas' First National Bank; L. C. Elliott, regional administrator for the CAA; W. O. Jones, City Manager; and E. H. Thornton, highway commission chairman. Published in the evening edition, May 26, 1951.
