Description
Nine crewmen were brought to Carswell Air Base. Their B-36 had trouble over Queen Charlotte Sound. Corporal Richard J. Schuler, only survivor without a relative to greet him, was forlorn, but not for long. He perked up when Star-Telegram Photographer Peggie Spencer walked forward and smacked him with a big kiss on his cheek which the corporal didn't wipe off. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning, February 18, 1950. Photos by Key Herbert and Peggie Spencer.
