Description
Nine crewmen were brought to Carswell Air Base. Their B-36 had trouble over Queen Charlotte Sound. "It's wonderful!" were the words of Lieutenant Raymond P. Whitfield and his wife, right, as they walked in embrace after his arrival with other B-36 survivors. Mrs. Whitfield was wishing for a leave for her husband so they could "forget" the disaster They are photographed with Lieutenant Paul Gerhart and his wife. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 18, 1950.
