Description
Shown here are Troy Whatley and his award winning steer. He is taking down the grand championship in the Shorthorn steer division at the recent State Fair at Dallas, Texas, with his "baby beef" that weighed around 950 pounds. Troy is wearing trousers, full sleeve shirt and a cowboy hat. He is standing and holding the halter of the steer. His family members are attending the fair and happy for the youngster's victory. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 27, 1941.
