Some baby beeves caught the eye of the Chuck Wagon Gossiper at the Texas State Fair at Dallas. The grand champion steer of the show is pictured here. Left to right with the steer are shown H. A. Fitzhugh, San Antonio, county agent who supervised the feeding of the grand champion; H. A. Fitzsimons, San Antonio, breeder of the steer; R. J. Kinzer, Kansas City, secretary of the American Hereford Association; John Henry Dean, Fort Worth, superintendent of the Hereford division of the show and vice president of the Texas Hereford Association; Joe Strauss, 4H Club boy who fed the champion steer; Joe Strauss Sr., father of the feeder of the steer; and O. L. Stark, foreman of the Strauss herd of registered Herefords. The grand champion steer weighs around 1, 100 pounds and will be sold Thursday with the other champion animals of this division.
