Description
The Highland Hereford Breeders Association sold their 1941 crop of feeder calves at Marfa. The sale attracted visitors from many States. Shown attendees, from left to right, are Dick Lawhon of Eldorado, Texas, D. K. Woodward of Dallas, Texas and R. M. Thompson Junior (Jr.) of Austin, Texas. They are standing side by side and smiling. Behind them is an American flag. All men are wearing suits and ties. These three Texans recently formed a partnership to purchase the Fischer Ranch southwest of Marfa. They plan to stock the ranch with cattle and sheep. Mr. Thompson is in the automobile business, Mr. Woodward is an attorney, and Mr. Lawhon is ranching. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 9, 1941.
