Description

The Baylor Bears are opening their college football season at Municipal Stadium in Waco, Texas. They are hosting the visiting Hardin-Simmons Cowboys. Attending the game, left to right, are Mrs. L. H. Beckman, Mr. Beckman, and Graham Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Beckman are from Abilene, Texas. Mrs. Beckman is wearing a quilted hat, a dress with a stylized flower broach at the neckline, silk stockings, a hacket, wristwatch, and sunglasses in her hands. Mr. Beckman is dressed in a fedora hat, a light colored shirt, a polkadot tie with a tie chain and a booster in, a wristwatch, rimless eyeglasses, a leather case in his hands, and a light single-breasted suit. Mr. Webb traveled from Albany, Texas to see the game. He is wearing a fedora hat, a light shirt, a diagonal patterned tie, a dark single-breasted suit and has a handkerchief in his breast pocket. There are several suit and dress-clad viewers behind the trio. Baylor won the game 24-0. Published Star-Telegram Morn. Sep. 28, 1941.
