The Baylor Bears are opening their college football season at Municipal Stadium in Waco, Texas. They are hosting the visiting Hardin-Simmons Cowboys. Attending the game, left to right, are Mrs. Jake Sandefer, Mr. Jake Sandefer, and Dr. W. R. White. Mrs. Sandefer is wearing a small box hat, a dress with a buttoning bodice (large decorative buttons), a belt, and matching skirt. She has a dark suit jacket and a handbag on her lap, and is holding a pair of eyeglasses. Mr. Sandefer, Breckenridge, Texas, is the chairman of the H. S. U. board of directors. He is dressed in a fedora hat, a light colored suit and a square-patterned tie with a dark suit. He has a cloth-covered box on his lap and a wrist watch strap is in few under his sleeve. Dr. White is the president of Hardin-Simmons. He is wearing a fedora hat, a light shirt, a checked tie with a tie chain and fob, a patterned gray single-breasted suit, and wire-rimmed glasses. He is reading a program that has a Camel cigarette advertisement on the back page. Baylor went on to win the game 24-0. Published Star-Telegram Morn. Sep. 28, 1941.
