Description

The Golden Gloves state tournament is being held in Fort Worth at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. The tournament opened in front of a crowd of 3,500. Squaring off in the ring left to right are Sonny Boy Roberts of Stephenville, Texas and Jack Osteene of Tyler, Texas. Roberts is shown charging a hunched over Osteene. Roberts went on to win the decision, giving Stephenville three tournament wins, ranking behind only Fort Worth, with four.
