Description
A high school football game between the Polytechnic Parrots and the Bryan Broncos (dark jerseys) is being held at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas. On his first ball carrying effort of the evening, Bronco running back Jim Jackson (69) flew through the Parrot secondary. The shifty 180-pound runner is shown crossing his own thirty en route to the goal line. Whiffing on a knee tackle is Parrot back Kenneth Andrews (77). The Bronco guard lying in the grass is Bill Zak, whose block removed kneeling Weldon Peacock. Jackson is eyeing the approaching safety - Howard Reynolds (85), who he outran after he passed midfield. The play went eighty-yards for a touchdown. In the foreground are three young men in the air and three sprawled on the ground as the rest of the team catches up. In the background are the Friday Night Lights of the ballfield light pole. "(Star-Telegram Photo by Tom Dillard.)" Published Star-Telegram Morn. Sep. 20, 1941.
