    Description

Energetic members of the East Fort Worth Lions Club were determined to do something about the low attendance over the summer. They borrowed a milk truck and made the rounds of firms where absentee Lions worked and herded them at gun point into the meeting room at Polytechnic Baptist Church. Left to right, R. A. Pendery, W. O. Kelley and H. C. Ashburn, holding the rifles are forcing the following members to attend a meeting: they are (with their hands in the air) W. D. Overton and E. W. Barrett. They are all posing with a smile on their faces. The East Fort Worth Lions Club meeting Thursday, September 18 resulted in a 100 per cent attendance. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, September 19, 1941.
