    Looking over the Colonial Club's fifth hole, left to right, are Betty Hicks Newell and her sister Margaret Hicks. Mrs. Newell is a new national women's golf champion. She and her younger sister are traveling to California by automobile. They stopped in Fort Worth, Texas, for a preview of the course. Mrs. Newell hopes to be back in October for the Texas Women's Open. She is dressed in a polka-dot blouse and a skirt. Miss Hicks is wearing a dress with a window pane design along the top.
