Description
To raise the $3,553,000,000 defense revenue contemplated in the tax bill passed by the Congress and sent to the President for signature, many commodities small and big will be looked at closely. Webb Walker Junior, reading the paper in his car that tells him the operation of his passenger automobile next year will coast him an even $5.00 in addition to all other Federal taxes already in force against the car and its equipment. If he sells the car and buy a boat, he will not escape it. Boats are also $5.00 a year. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 18, 1941.
