Description

H. C. Burrus is a football player at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. The Cowboys are looking to continue the success of their undefeated 1940 season. The skinny, 180-pound end will play a major role for the Cowboys this season. The first year head coach, Warren Woodson, rated Burrus "one of the two greatest ends" he's coached. Burrus is shown standing on the practice field, dressed in a number 27 football uniform and a helmet. "(Star-Telegram Photos by Tom Dillard.)" Published Star-Telegram Morn. Sep. 14, 1941.
