Description
Vernon Lee Hendrix is the eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Hendrix. Vernon is a self-made man who's illness has kept him from attending school. Despite only seven weeks in a classroom, he reads books meant for a twelve-year old. Vernon is sitting on a couch, dressed in a short-sleeve shirt and trousers. He is reading "Rex, King of the Deep", a novel by Oskar Lebeck and Gaylord Dubois. Published Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition September 10, 1941.
