Twenty-eight young women, representing a cross-section of Fort Worth, Texas, are serving on an advisory board for United Service Organization (U. S. O.) soldier dances. Ten of them are shown here. They are, left to right, on the back row, Virginia Lucker, Polly Chilton, Nancy Nixon, Mary McDermott, and Virginia Farrell; front row, Carolynn Fortson, Roberta Winton, Ernestine Christy, Betty Beggs Bevan and Josephine Walker. Miss Lucker is wearing a dress and a necklace. Miss Chilton is wearing a polka-dot blouse and a coat. Miss Nixon is wearing a dark-colored dress and a necklace. Miss McDermott is wearing a polka-dot blouse and a coat. Miss Farrell is wearing a blouse and a blazer. Miss Fortson is wearing a dress with buttons down the bodice. Miss Winton is wearing a dress with an American flag brooch pinned by the shoulder and a necklace. Miss Christy is wearing a striped blouse, a skirt and a bow in her hair. Miss Bevan is wearing a dark-colored dress with buttons lining the neckline. Miss Walker is wearing a striped blouse, dark-colored skirt and a necklace.
