Description

Representatives of the Cowboy Band of Hardin-Simmons University will arrive in New Orleans, Louisiana, as part of the Texas delegation to the International Lions Convention. The members are, front row, left to right, G. B. Sandefer, manager; Diana Sandefer, 7, band mascot; and Sheriff Will Watson of Abilene, Texas; back row, Len Fore and Jake Miller. The band is pictured in the baggage car of a train. Fore and Miller are wearing Western outfits as part of the band costume. The outfit consists of cowboy hats, long-sleeve collared shirts, bandannas around their necks, and chaps. Band manager Sandefer is wearing a long-sleeve shirt, necktie, trousers and a cowboy hat. Diana is sitting on a saddle. She is wearing a cowboy hat, satin shirt, trousers and a belt. She is holding an American flag. Sheriff Watson is wearing a long-sleeve, collared shirt, trousers, a belt and a cowboy hat. Pinned to his shirt is a sheriff's badge. He has a pistol holster attached to his belt.
