Chaplain J. H. Laughner, of Camp Wolters, left, congratulates Private William Silver, right, of Company D, 52nd Battalion, after his marriage to Betty Lee Lyons, center, on July 19, 1941. They held the ceremony in the United Service Organization (U. S. O.) center at Hotel Texas. The couple are from Salem, Ohio. This was the first wedding to be held in the U. S. O. center in Fort Worth, Texas, and was one of four functions staged for visiting soldiers that night. Chaplain Laughner and Private Silver are wearing their military uniforms. Mrs. Silver is wearing a blazer, skirt and a hat.
