Description
The Sixth Annual XIT Rodeo and Reunion is being held in Dalhart, Texas. The lively event draws large crowds, often doubling the town's population. Some of the visitors in the spotlight, left to right, are Dr. J. A. Hill and W. D. Twichell. The men are discussing a book of field notes surveying XIT land. Dr. Hill, of Canyon, Texas, is the president of West Texas State Teachers College. He is dressed in a hat and a double breasted suit. Mr. Twichell, of San Angelo, Texas, worked as an assistant to the surveyor of XIT lands starting in 1886. He is wearing a hat, striped dress shirt, necktie and trousers.
