Description
The observance of the Fourth of July in Fort Worth, Texas, is a mixture of patriotic affairs and recreation. The United Service Organization (U. S. O.) is performing a street dance for the armed forces in Downtown Fort Worth. These three couples are among the first to try their dance steps on Main Street's brick pavement. Left to right are Miss Catherine Greever, Private O. M. Powell, Miss Nelsie Jayne Love, Private Walter Papson, Miss Dorothy Casebolt, and Private H. K. Oppenheim. Miss Greever is wearing a blouse and a floral skirt. Private Powell, of Camp Wolters, is dressed in a military uniform. Miss Love is wearing a light colored dress. Private Papson, of Camp Barkeley, is dressed in a military uniform. Miss Casebolt is wearing a polka-dot dress. Private Oppenheim, of Camp Wolters, is dressed in a military uniform. The girls are among the 1,000 dancing partners invited by the U. S. O.
