Description
Oil was recently discovered in the northern Jones County area, one mile north of the original Avoca Pool. The pool extension has led to an increase in activity. One of the drilling crews on sight are working on the M. J. Delaney No. 1 Short. On the crew, left to right, are J. A. Van Burkleo and Dick Wise. They are both welders. Mr. Van Burkleo is wearing a hat, button-up shirt, gloves, and trousers. Mr. Wise is dressed in a hat, welding goggles, a short-sleeve shirt, and trousers.
