Description

Oil was recently discovered in the northern Jones County area, one mile north of the original Avoca Pool. The pool extension has led to an increase in activity. One of the drilling crews on sight are with the King Oil Company, Number Three: A. E. Olson. The crew members, left to right, are Bob Mashburn, Jack Camp, A. A. Mayes and R. E. Sander. Mr. Mashburn is a driller. He is wearing a hat, button-up shirt, trousers, and gloves. Mr. Camp, tool dresser, is wearing a hat, long-sleeve shirt, overalls, and gloves. Mr. Mayes, driller, is dressed in a hat, button-up shirt, trousers, and gloves. Mr. Sander, tool dresser, is wearing a hat, long-sleeve shirt, overalls, and gloves.
