Description
Dorothy Lile is demonstrating a $5 Valentine one could buy. The Valentine is a copy on an authentic 1863 model of lace, hand painted satin, ribbons, ruffles, roses and a mirror. The buyer has the choice between a sweet sentiment and a wisecrack. The nineteenth century styled Valentines are making a comeback, thanks to Scarlett O'Hara and Gone with the Wind. Miss Lile is wearing a blouse and a skirt. There are rows of greeting cards in a display behind her. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 7, 1940.
