Description

Scientific instruments are replacing old-fashioned charts in determining reading efficiency of school pupils and remedial methods. The final stage of the test system, in the remedial laboratory of the clinic demonstrated by Mrs. W. B. Townsend of Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana as a part of reading tests program, sponsored by the Texas Christian University (TCU), education department. Mrs. Townsend is shown working with Herman Pollock, first grade pupil of Stephen F. Austin School, to show how, under proper conditions, reading becomes an interesting game.. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 8, 1941.
