    Description

"Mayor" Whitten (seated, center) of the Fort Worth Boys Club receives the congratulations of his constituency (part of them) after the ballots are all in. The 10-year-old mayor won over four other candidates. Surrounding the table to congratulate him are, left to right, Travis Wakeley, Joe Hagan, Lamar Bills, Edward Ray Courtney and Ross Peacock. There is a piece of paper and gavel on the desk. In the background are a bookcase, lion painting, and United States flag. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 20, 1941.
