North Side Kiwanis Club purchased United States defense bonds totaling $500. Completing arrangements are left to right, W. L. Pier, Warren Smeby, and J. R. Edwards. Mr. Pier is vice president of the Fort Worth National Bank. He is wearing a dark colored suit. Mr. Smeby is secretary of the club. He is dressed in a suit. Mr. Edwards, club president, is wearing a striped suit. They are sitting on chairs, positioned in a semi-circle, looking at defense bonds. There is a desk in the foreground covered in newspapers and a telephone, On the back wall, there is a radiator under the window, a filing cabinet, and a calendar.
